Tinto Negro Malbec 2017 Review

The Uco Valley in Mendoza has three sub regions, each with their own sub regions, and it’s starting to look like we might be seeing different expressions of Malbec as a result. Here is one from the Tunuyan sub region of Uco Valley showing the savory side of this grape. This wine shows bramble fruit, tobacco leaf and cigar box (a bit smokey) with some earth tones heightened by the soft but prominent tannin running through, nice, bright acidity. It’s $14 and with a screw cap closure saying "please take me to the next cookout" and it’s saying that because this wine in a casual setting, with fresh charred meat, would be divine.
